Hardware Driver Software

Every computer user faces the troubles concerning the search, install and delete of a driver sooner or later. It might be caused either by new device purchase, operating system reinstall, hardware speedup, or finally, system properties improvement – it’s of no consequence… in this paper I’d like to lay down some general information about drivers and also speak about some peculiar nuances and ways of treatment with this kind of software.

Driver is a computer program, which allows the operating system to access the hardware of any kind. Generally speaking, a driver is necessary for the exploitation of equipment of any kind (both front-end and internal). In usual, the operating system is delivered full-configured with the drivers for the key hardware components, which are necessary for the property-sheet mode of the system. Although, some equipment (such as, graphics board or printing peripheral) may demand some specific drivers usually provided by this equipment’s vendor.

Here is a website where you may download your driver software:

XP DHCP Set To Automatic, But Not Running, No Connection

Had a customers computer here today running XP SP3 that lost Like Us On Facebook!there internet connection,, would not “Acquire AN IP Address”. Ran the usual scans with Spybot, Malwarebytes, Avast, and few others. All together about 100 infections remove. Rescanned nothing else found.

Ran XP Winsock Fix few times, which usually fixes XP’s connections settings due to virus/spyware corruption, damage,, but rebooted and still no internet connection.

Also XP theme was set to Classic, Administrative Tools/Services/Themes was set to automatic,, restarted the Theme service, and was able to set the XP theme back in display properties fine. But on every reboot xp theme would set itself back to classic. Restarted “Theme” service again, back to normal. Every boot up would set itself back to classic…………….

DHCP service (neede for internet connection WAS set to “Automatic” in Services. When I manually restarted the DHCP service, internet connection was re-established fine………………… BUT once again, on every reboot I had no connection unless I manually restarted the “DHCP” service. DHCP service WAS not auto starting itself for some reason. But knew something still was not right, for when I did manually restart these services and had an internet connection,, Internet Explore 8 search pages kept changing on me also.

Found a post elsewhere with the same exact problem,, DHCP and XP Theme service not starting up correctly, where this rootkit remover by Kaspersky fixed it up.

** Rootkit.Win32.TDSS **

Ran the tool above and it found one rootkit buried down deep, removed and rebooted. XP Theme problem was fixed, AND Internet was back to normal, no problem. Rebooted a few times,,, all good ta go! Did not have to manually restart these 2 services. Thanks Kaspersky for the fix!

On Wednesday (April 21st, 2010), the popular antivirus product McAfee released an update for Windows XP that flags the system file svchost.exe as a virus. As a result, XP systems with SP3 that have downloaded this update will enter a reboot loop and have no networking capabilities. Affected users will either see a Blue Screen of Death or get a DCOM error followed by a shutdown message.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480: GF100 Has Landed – HotHardware

Lightspeeds PC Repair Augusta GA

“For better or worse, the launch of NVIDIA’s next-generation GPU architecture codenamed Fermi, a.k.a. GF100, is one of the most highly anticipated in our industry, ever. Information about the GPU has been tricking out for many months now, some of it good and some bad. Regardless of what you have chosen to believe or ignore up to this point, one irrefutable fact remains. NVIDIA is extremely late to the DirectX-11 party. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Rival AMD has used the last few months to release a myriad of DX11-class cards ranging in price from under $100 to almost $700, fleshing out a top-to-bottom line-up that caters to virtually every market segment. Today NVIDIA is announcing two high-end cards, neither of which will be available for a couple of more weeks. So while this announcement is an important move for the company, NVIDIA would have liked to have made it sooner.”
